Children need adults they can trust. They need, "Someone to choose me!". And many need medical support, psychological peace and a place to thrive.
We aim to protect them from less than a full life, but we cannot achieve our goals alone.
At a Specialized Foster Care home, children receive so much more than the necessary medical or behavioral treatment. Every day they are exposed to basic human warmth and affection, allowing them to grow strong through experiences that most people take for granted. This warmth and affection plays a critical role in their full recovery.
We specialize in this medical and therapeutic support, keeping families together, and safe households for children and pregnant teens. Meritan provides this program in AR, GA, and TN. It is also available in Mississippi under the name Apelah.
Job training for Senior Citizens
Combining community service and a paycheck until you find your next job.
Meritan provides on-the-job training for low income, unemployed seniors over the age of 55. This program is designed to help those who want to enter or re-enter the workforce but need career training to prepare for new workplace experiences.
"Enrollees" receive a paid, temporary work training experience at community based organizations and public agencies. Enrollees also benefit from career services that help find permanent job placements once training is complete.

The Memphis area team is a collaboration of various agencies in the mid-south who assist with 24/7 advocacy home healthcare, emergency housing, group counseling and legal services to support those 60 and older to live safely and with dignity. We work in conjunction with local law enforcement, the district attorney's office and Tennessee Adult Protective Services.
